Subject: Poser 4 Transparency settings to Poser 5???

Is there any guidline you can follow to set the transparency settings in Poser 5 so that they appear the same in a render as they did in Poser 4. Poser 5 trys to set the values for transparency when you pull in a Poser 4 saved file but the results are not the same (Even if you set your renderer to Poser 4 with out shader trees). I'm not talking about fall off or the edge setting but the actual amount of transparency does not seem to be enough to get the same effect in Poser 5. Anybody know how the new Poser 5 settings correspond to the Poser 4 ones? Thanks, Thorgrim

set transparency falloff to 0 for all parts of the mesh.

That still doesn't seem to make objects transparent to the same degree they were in poser 4. The scale of the numbers seems to be different if that makes any sense, 0 to 1 for transparency MAX in Poser 4 does not seem to have the same effect as 0 to 1 for transparency in Poser 5.

There seems to be a problem with Poser 5 shader tree or the way it interprets tranparency, I'm not sure which. Check this thread started by Jelisa in the Poser 5 beta forum, and see if it's similar to yours. http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=12440&Form.ShowMessage=915991 It's actually worth checking the beta forum for similar problems because they might even have the solution there or it could be there isn't a solution without a patch. Not saying "don't ask questions in here" that'd be daft, but take a look in there to see if there's anything like your problem and if not, come on in and see if one of those with a perfect copy can help you. :)
