Subject: How to edit Poser 5 *.crz files manually?

Sentenza ( ) posted Sun, 01 December 2002 at 8:25 AM ยท edited Sun, 27 October 2024 at 7:56 AM

Is there a way or a tool to edit the *.crz files outside of Poser 5? Like a new "Morphmanager" or "cr2 Edit"?

.crz is simply a variation of .zip/.gz compression, so you can expand the files with a suitable un-zipper (WinZIP etc. on PC, StuffIt Expander etc. on Mac) and get the normal "text" file version.

It works! I renamed the result to *.cr2 and there we go... ...just found out it can also be done by just resaving the figure with "compressing files" disabled, we get the regular *.cr2 file. Thanks for you hint!

There is a Python script included with P5 that decompresses all your files in the libraries. In the Poser5 Menue it's under Window - Python Scripts. In the Python window click on Utility Funcs and then on UnCompress Files. To compress all files again simply click on Compress Files.

You should make a new figure instead of resaving. The poser patches won't update files modified outside of Poser. I went through this with a Judy morphmanager mod to get Mimmic working and found out the hard way, had to reinstall poser.
