Description
Lilium bulbiferum appeared in the Dutch agricultural areas not before the 19th Century. It is said that it was imported, on purpose or not, from Central European countries. Anyway.. it managed to survive and spread over the North Eastern part of Holland. Cornflower, Corn marigold and the shirley poppy accompanied this lily often.. a really outstanding combination of colors.. a true color outburst. Unfortunatelly, the flowers I mentioned became more and more rare because of the modern agriculture. Now those flowers are nearly extincted in Holland.
This.. and of course the beauty of the flower itself, made me want to take pictures of it..
