Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

There is nothing more funny than putting this little guy into your hands. If you are carefully, he doesn't fear but loves the temperature of your warm skin. Very nice macro shot! Bravo!

Ive never seen a salamander before. Interesting skin, appears almost like a fishing lure. Excellent capture. Aloha

A wonderful find and capture.

Nice capture! You think you have to be careful there tho, you need to try Australia! Venomous reptiles make things so much more interesting! Interesting skin texture this little critter has. Thanks for sharing!

Creature from the underworld! Great textures. I stood on a frog by mistake once. Eeeugh. Always look where I'm going now.

What a jewel! One does have to tread carefully. Not everyhting is a 10,000 foot climb or a 30 mile hike.

Cute little thing. :) At certain times of the year here, Salamanders COVER the streets. And as a kid, we used to collect them by the bucketful ... play with them a while and then let 'em go. Thanks for the memory :)

Very good layout, it is amazing how you can get these shots without having the little critter go scurrying off! Salamanders can be fast!

A great catch! Salamanders in general have become very rare since they are extremely sensitive to changes in the environment. Very nice to see one in full vigour. Excellent capture!

I didn't think salamanders lived where the weather was that cold! I've seen one here in Colorado, but only near the plains in the summer :)

it is amazing how animals and plants survive harsh conditions. Death Valley, Calif. has the hottest climate in the world and after many years of no rain, it rained and the desert was full of flowers and other plants that had not been seen for many years. lucky for the lizard that you was careful and you being ready to capture him for many others to enjoy.
