Description

Fortunately the clipper approached us a little and now it could be compared with a modern ferry. New meets old.... The difference of centuries in ship-building. Incredible how much technology has been developed to make travel on the water safer and faster! New against old.... What will it be, an easy trip with the ferry or a rough ride on that clipper!? :) Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia II 100, 300 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

The clipper looks like one of those Windjammer cruise ships. I counted her spars and saw main, top, royal, top royal and gallant but no top gallant so in one definition she is a brig with three masts. Others still would rate her a full rigged ship. Even with no canvas up she is not belching diesel smoke like the ferry so I would prefer her cabins. A clever accomodation of the patient watching.

Most interesting illustration of the new and the old - funny how the clipper was alone to start with, but soon joined by other ships (at least was able to be seen with them)!
