Hi everyone. This pic was taken in the garden at Crathes castle,...in Scotland,(lol,no kidding, duh).
It's my first macro and I had no idea what I was doing!And...the lil' guy simply would not stay still!!!It also doesn't help that I was petrified of the darn thing.(Please don't tell me he's harmless. To me he's a monster!)
I wish he were sharper...sigh.Oh well.I wanted to upload something better for you but I just can't get my head together today!!! :(
LOL,hope you like it anyway...And of course,I always appreciate your comments and suggestions.Have a bee-utiful,(I couldn't resist,sigh,what a geek), day,evening,...whatever!-Marlene :)

LOL...you're so funny, Marlene! I love it, since it shows how active bees really are! Everything else is so clearly in focus so the point is - - That Geek Bee is Busy!! :0)

I love the colors here, that orange is totally gorgeous and I think u've captured the 'lil fella beautifully actually! The sense of movement is great! I would have cropped a tad on either side so the subject wouldn't be that dead center but that's just me! The shot is great nonetheless!

The bumble could be a bit sharper, but the image as a whole is beautiful and that is what counts in the end, doesn't it ?

The ones to watch for are the yellow jaackets! Bees and bumble bees are easier to read, just move around them very slowly and they well not be afraid of you and will let you take their picture as you did. And might I add so perfectly too!

Stunning capture, incredible DOF, and you really got those bees wings really good! catching him bzzzzing/flapping his wings like that is really hard to do! i still don't have a bee shot i can post. they all SUCK! Kudos to you!!!!!! You did Grrrrrrrreat! :)

Well, Marlene, the bee is a she, but I always recommend caution around the female of a species. This is based on fifty years of screw-ups.... :)

A steady hand together with your good eye did this. Just love the look of the plant. Almost 3D...and the bee with wings in motion adds the life.Keep this up girl...

I've never managed to capture on in his lift-off. Sharpeness is fine to me - the blur just shows the speed of him. Oh .. and btw - they really are harmless. They bite if they feel threatend, but besides that .. you should just avoid stepping into one of their nests (as i did once .. ). Great first macro!

wow, this one is amazing. Very different compared to the other shots in scottland. I like how this one is macro. The bee looks sooo cute, it looks so furry but in person id probably want to step on it. Amazing shot, i love the colors!.

To show so much movement and yet bee so still....this one would have made Chauncey Gardener very very happy. I think he would have stared for hours pondering how everything in your garden picture is perfect and is exactly as it should be. Wonderful work as always.
