Description

This shot was taken in Holland Michagan. I had layed down on the grass to rest . It was especially hot and humid and so found a shady place with my daughter Chrissy to relax for a while. then four baby duckings came up from out of the water and played. I watched them for some time. Then I think they needed a nap.. and here three little baby brothers and one sister are laying down resting thier beaks on the back side of thier tailends...in formation they choose a spot right under an old blue and yellow carriage and horse - almost if they they had planned it !!...i thought it looked sweet! :O) I had never seen a line up like this before and was happy for the shot cause it didnt last long. Chrissy got curious and moved closer and they were off... to find thier Mama... ok now I tried straiting the house but then the ducks seemed to be at a slope... so didnt want to crop it anymore and lose the scence ... Hope you like it as much as I do!!.. handheld had to grab my camera quick so not as clear as i would like but i think the lineup and colors help to make up for it!!.... yes , Holland Michagan is a little town where dutch settler moved to Michagan ...lots of Ducth people windmills ...tulips festival ect.. and yeah the horse was a prop in the the town for the wagon Digimon!...this place was a remake of an old town ect..:O)

I love the deep, rich colors and the layout is fantastic. It also made me smile - the thought came to me that it was a covered wagon with a "sunroof." Which of couse led to the obvious title of "Duck and Cover." Ok, not so obvious. But thanks, it's a wonderful photo!
