Description

The coastline around Ambleteuse offers more than only rocks and water. Incredible sandscapes make me wonder how this lose sand is kept together. The grasses help to keep the sand together, but sometimes there are no visible grassroots and still the sand is kept together. The dunes show a variety of structures, hairs (grasses on top ), a face and a chin complete with wrinkles. This little dune-series will mark the end of the visit to Ambleteuse. After a few days I hope to be ready scanning those slides and then I can start to post the Swiss stuff. Great picture. We have an area across a small stretch of the harbour near us called Studland Bay, and the sand dunes are just the same! Amazing!

Sometimes one would find a network of roots under the sand. Other times, all the laws of physics have been broken as the sand just stays in place. But the sand is always a beautiful place to play and have fun. On the dune further on the left just below the green grass, I see a smiling face with the rest of his body buried in the sand. Beautiful capture. Aloha
