Description

Among my various uncompleted projects is a children's picture book, "The Quest of Sir Bearington." Sir Bearington arives back at his castle to discover a dragon has abducted Princess Jennifur. Bearington sets off in pursuit. He discoers strange clues along the way, like a housewares merchant with an empty wagon and a lot of money in the middle of a clearing. And when he spots the dragon in flight carrying a bundle, a tea cup falls from the dragon. Eventually Bearington finds the dragon's cave. As he charges into battle, Princess Jennifur comes out and greets him with a cheery "Oh, you've come for tea!" And as the baffled and still apprehensive Bearington sips tea, Jennifur tells him of the truth behind her "abduction." She'd been bored and managed to attract the attention of a dragon she knew. He took her off to his cave for a vacation but since dragon caves are not suitable lodgings for a princess, she was helping him redecorate. As Bearington takes Jennifur home, she slips the dragon a note, "Come get me next month." Acrylic painting on 16x24 masonite

(A) It's a kid's book. --and-- (B) You're indulging in specieist stereotypes. ;)
