In Memorium (A dedi to 'Lappy')
The Shade Garden,Crathes Castle,Banchory,Scotland
Sigh...;)
Hi everyone. What a difficult and trying week this has been.I have only had sporadic access to RR as my laptop,(a.k.a.'Lappy'),died a most untimely and premature death.Unfortunately 'Lappy' was my only access to my photos and photoshop as well. And naturally I was petrified that some of my Scotland pics were never to be seen again.(Yes.I know.I should always back up my files.Okay.I was foolish.Trust me.That will NEVER happen again!)
Well, that is all behind me now,as Lappy has been replaced by a full-grown pc,with a real monitor and everything, lol.(Lappy was kind enough to expire just before a certain occasion where a gift for me was in order.Good timing Lappy!MWAH!)
And on that note,I wish to bid a fine farewell to my dear departed Lappy with this dedi.Goodbye sweet Lappy.Whilst you may have been inconstant, and sometimes failed me in ways too numerous to mention, you tried your best to make me happy.I will always remember the good times we had, from playing with photoshop to our travels to Florida and Scotland.Adieu my friend.Rest in peace.
Thank you for taking the time to view and comment on my little pickie here and for tolerating my frequently incessant and self-indulgent babble.I assure you,it is most appreciated.:D
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and an even better week.MWAH!!!
Marlene :)

I don not know what to comment on first, Lappy or the photograph. Both have me in tears! So you are telling us that all photographs from Scotland are in Cyberspace heaven? What about hard drive recover? Or even taking out the hard drive from Lappy and placing it into the desk-top model? I back up to three different locations my 20,190 photographs since I have not burned them to a DVD yet. I know I would feel devastated if just one image was lost, but a whole collection! Just the thought gives me anxiety. But then there is this beautiful and gracious photograph of yours to bring me back to my senses and reality on an early Saturday morning. I just remembered, I have photographs of yours that were posted on RR. So if you lost any, I can try to locate them and eMail the ones I believe are yours from my RR collection. Maybe others could do the same and you can try to rebuild your library that way? As I was saying, today's image and tribute to Lappy is most classical and I love it very much. However I do have a question for you, it looks like something to hold baptism water? Probably fitting to make sure Lappy gets to the right place, after all, he did try to serve you well. Well, please except our condolences and next time get a Macintosh.

Back up! I take this as a personal warning to back up my own stuff. I have some of it on CD's but certainly not all and would be horrified if I lost everything. I once lost an entire collection of cross stitch designs which was a year and half of work!!!!Your photo is very atmospheric I agree it looks like a font, which makes it suitable as a dedi to a laptop. Sorry,British humour.

Gee Marlene, there are so many ways to go on this!!! Well, looking to the future is the best approach. With all the new power at your fingertips, I can only image the amazing images you will be treating us to. I can't wait! Rest happy, Lappy.

Oh Marlene, that IS bad news! Unfortunate as it is, we grow more and more dependent on all these things and backups, yeah, we get that great incentive usually AFTER the crash! sigh I'm very sorry for you! Shots that get lost are a hard thing as well as other data (no hard disk recovery possible anymore?)! Take care!
Lledeline
Poor Lappy. Hope you don't have lost too many works. Great shot.
