Description

There are days of long hikes (and I'm preparing here for one long hike) and there are days of little hikes, like this one here. Just leaving my house and walking into the forest on the mountain behind me I enjoy the exuberant greens of the forest. Tranquillizing for the eye and for the mind, all those green tones! The forest-soil is covered here with horsetails (Equisetum sp.) and I'm fascinated by the horizontal lines caused by them. The greens are certainly very soothing. It looks like it is nice and cool there with just enough sun shining through to make the forest plants seem like they are waves of green rolling with the tide.
