Ultrafractal 3.02
Here's one that's sorta "artsy-fartsy" as Keith would say - lol. More brown stUFf. I learned a lot about fbm Popcorn Traps when I made this as the almost all the texturing layers and shapes were made with it using the Julia 1st Correction formula in the sam.ufm folder. Spiffed it up a little with a frame and matte made in UF.
No luck at the DragonCon Art Show. No ribbons - there was some great art there. But they also didn't have a category for digital art (??????!!!!!) anyhow. Got no bids on my pieces, either. I was pretty demoralized for a while but as I looked thru the gallery a few hours before the close, I saw only one piece that sold for over $75 anyhow. Most in the $10-$50 range. I had VERY large giclee prints. There was lots of really good art there but it was all too expensive for the crowd that came, I guess. Audre and I were the only fractallists. Which reminds me that I wanted to buy the small copy of her "Dreamcatcher" she had on display but, as ALWAYS, Joie had the checkbook! lol She was waiting with the car as I loaded my stuff out. Gotta remember to e-mail her and get it - amazingly cool fractal/Poser piece!
BUT, we DID have a great time, I DID get pix of my exhibit and I did GET A T-SHIRT! lol Joie got to see her son, who lives in Atlanta, and BEST OF ALL, we got to go up to north Georgia and spend an evening til around 2AM visiting one of my best fractal buddies, Panny Brawley (Pannyhb)! What a fun and friendly person she is and also her husband, Skipper. Wonderous view from their place WAY up in the mountains, too. Wow - I'm not sure, but I think I hold the record for the most fractallists met in person at SIX!!
Thanks for stopping by!
Rick

I also like the "wall" in the background, it adds depth and perspective. fBm Popcorn Trap is one of my favoured colourings, and I think there is a lot to find in it - as you proofed here perfectly well :-) Wonderful work!

Well, the only thing I can say is that I am still one of your biggest fans. If you had an exhibet here, I would stand in line for a print! This is awesome, by the way, (in an Artsy Fartsy kind of way) classically beautiful in gorgeous soft tones. Wonderfully texured and awesome work in general.

Super awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I adore your browns and your textures, and this image is a delight to my eyes! Don't feel too demoralised about the art show - I have a friend locally who is a VERY good professional artist of world renown, and made a VERY lucrative business from her work until very suddenly, it all just stopped! Everyone wanted the pale pastel stripey pictures of pure meaninglessness from the cheap stores instead! (Her pictures were expensive, yes, but no more than should be expected!)

More artsy than fartsy. Well done.

sorry about the undesirable results at the show. One reason I have never tried to sell any fractals. always yours has been first class art work, but some people do not appreciate good art when they see it. very elgant fractal today and gradient

This is just so very beautiful Rick. I've kept in my inbox for a while until I had a few moments to properly comment on it. I love the colours they are very earthy and your whole image has a geological feel. The texturing and shapes are incredible. Very well put together image and a beauty to study. Thank you. :)
