Description

"The grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never dried all at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls. " --John Muir

Like last week, I decided to close the week with a sunrise. At the beginning of this past May, you may recall that Lisa and I took a short vacation to St. Augustine, FL. It is a beautiful historic town (one of the oldest in the USA) located just inside the intercoastal waterway. Our first night there we stayed at a hotel on the Atlantic and in the morning walked down to the beach for the sunrise. I was able to take this photo at that time. It was a great start to a wonderful, and much needed, getaway. I'm finally getting to those photos now, and will do a series for you of the various sites and areas of interest we visited in St. Augustine. We didn't get to see everything, ...but I guess that leaves something for next time, right? :o) ----- Thanks for stopping by and for your owlish comments on yesterday's photo, Owl Butterflies. I think we've seen enough butterflies for now, but I'll be sure to revisit these beautiful creatures in the future.

Staring at this shot I thought, this is perfect quality and just then I read your name and though, yes, Kort and quality, a perfect combination! Excellent work, Kort, the contrasts and fragile colors are captured perfectly! A breathtaking shot!

And what a romantic weekend getaway this must have been for the two of you! This is a gorgeous sunrise, had you been there 15 to 30 mins before that whole sky might have been lit. Excellent work Kort!
