Description

'ello everyone, long time no upload. So here's something new for 'ya.. well few months old actually, but never before shown anywhere at least so that count no? ':]
One of ten Images I did for a "Sea Monsters" calendar, everything modeled in Wings3D of course.
Most of the individual parts of this particular pic I've already shown off before, which is why I upload this final version now. There's the Ship (Overview, Mesh, Render in my gallery), the Human figures (Old WIP thread of body here at R'osity,Figure WIP2, clothed/posed figures WIP), and the Turtle (older.."non-monster" version Render, and Mesh & UV)
Phew, what a list.. There's another pic that uses stuff I've shown at Renderosity before (stuff like the "dive equipment" pic in my gallery) so I'll be uploading the final of that as well, probably tomorrow or day after if I have the time. But that will probably be it for now, eventually I'll most likely upload them all, or at least my favorites.. but gonna take a long while for various reasons..

In the meanwhile the best I can offer is you goto the SMC page
Scroll all the way down and will see thumbnail pics of all the calendar pages, which you can click on to get a larger view.. not that much larger I'm afraid :\ But it will have to do for now hehe..
All my stuff there (every pic except September and December) also done in Wings3D, rendered in RayDream 5.5, post-work in Painter5.5 as uaual. The Diver one (November) is the one I mentioned will be uploading next. And you'll probably also note the October one.. Night Island background there (minus the sea monster) I've already uploaded to my gallery ("Seaport" pic) a while back.

I think that's it... so remember, stay out of the water! ;]
I'm off to continue work on my Halloween contest entry, cya! -PC

Dude you are a god. There are a lot of people who spent more on software than most do on a new car and can't even touch this. I am humbled.

Wonderful render. Great eye for details. Excellent shading. I just love everything about this picture. And there's nothing wrong with recycling now and then. :)

The colour on the turtle's back, and the way you've done the sea, is just awesome. Lovely stuff!

It's awe-inspiring what you are able to accomplish with such seemingly "low-end" 3D apps! It proves the point that it's the artist that counts, not the tools!

Thanks a lot everybody. Mea - details.. thanks, some are unfortunately lost .. the pic above is actually less than half the size of the 'for print' full-res version. As for 'model recycling', hey that's my middle name! You haven't seen the last of those human figures, I promise! ;] But nah, in this case those older renders were just WIPs & Tests. All these models were actually made for this image. danamo, I guess that's true, but good tools certainly help. My renderer is low-end, the somewhat outdated painter 5.5 is still ok though, and I was certainly covered well on the modeling side as I know you know. I certainly wouldn't call Wings low-end, despite the price ;] Which brings me to Talos, you unfortunate soul hehe.. Wings3D (www.Wings3D.com) is a free 3D modeling app I use for all my modeling. I guess I could have attributed the pic to Carrara/Rds (RDS used to render), or Painter even since all the layer mixing and post-work trickery.. but the models are the real foundation of all my images, and make up the bulk of the work, so I like to credit W3D when possible. Thanks again everyone, diver pic coming up later today..

Abso-freaking-lutely incredible! Just when one gets inured to the parade of one CGI nude after another, along comes a completely original image! Wow!

You are a wonderful artist and model creator. I found your art through your free turtle. I'm glad I did, your work is fabulous!!!
