Description
I want to dedicate this image to two new friends I have made here at R'osity: Mahna and Jeni. They did the wonderful skin texture I used here and were absolutely wonderful in helping me find exactly what I wanted for the kinds of renders I want to do!!! Textures can be optimised for different uses, and this one I'm happy to say was made perfectly for me! Big HUGZ to you both and thank you so much for your kind help!!!!
This image used one (5 quality) area light sized to have the same angular size as the sun (with the sun's color temperature), Ambient light intensity of 20% along with a gradient backdrop, 6x18 Monte Carlo Radiosity. Of the radiosity options, only the Monte Carlo Radiosity worked with the transmapped hair in a way that I could render it in pieces.
All told this took in excess of 250 hours of cpu time to render, most of it on the the transmapped hair. With the Level 2 subpatch versions of the hair, skin, and clothes, LW refused to render any of the background at the same time, so it was all rendered in Vue5I and composited together.
I spent a good bit of time on the shoulders, they are still not all the way there. I am happy with the shadows though, Radiosity Rocks!!!
The character mesh is the Daz Unimesh, I did a custom morph for the head (primarily in Silo, back before I got LW). The clothes and hair are by hmann, both are very good by Poser standards, I have been learning what I like and don't like for LW for when I get around to building my own. I modified the mest for the top extensively (in LW) so it would come closer to doing what I wanted. I use the Poser dynamic cloth room to get the initial posed fit, then used Modeler to fix what I didn't like of the result. I also used modeler to rework the shoulders and upper arms to try to get a semblance of realism. The skin texture was perfect for what I wanted, so I used it with just a slight mod to the bump map (all my previous posts involved pretty extensive mods to the base texture I was using then.)
Big HUGZ, Kylee
