Description

Ultrafractal 4.01 Here's one that's actually a VERY radical tweak of a previous abstract piece I made called "Armistice". I went nutz with the new "Explore" feature in UF and came up with this one. When I made the shapes, I noticed this neat zoom that reminded me of a prehistoric scene or maybe some Heavy Metal magazine type scene or a scene from the French animated movie, "Fantastic Planet". I was almost going to call it "Bedrock" after the Flintstones' home town. Since "Fred's wife", Hurricane Wilma, is projected to pass pretty close to Palm Bay on it's way out into the Atlantic, it kinda got me thinking along those lines - lol Thanks for stopping by! Rick ------------------------------------------------- Added 1-18-06: I entered this image under the title, "Bedrock", in the 2006 art contest at the Museum of Computer Art in Brooklyn, New York (moca.com) - the "Donnie" award. I reckon that's like "Oscar" or "Emmy". To my amazement and joy, it won FIRST PLACE! How cool is THAT??? ------------------------------------------------- ***(Fine art giclee' prints of most of my work are available in limited edition on archival paper or canvas - e-mail: drahcir3@hotmail.com and get busy filling that empty spot on the wall! Unique, "one-of-a-kind" (edition size = 1) prints are also available*** :-)

Airplane or long extinct species, doesn't matter. In a little while, geologically speaking, we'll all be prehistoric one way or another. I definetly see both, the turmoil of evolution, the struggle for life reaching up to a weak sun that filters through an ancient atmosphere, and the sunset of civilization as our machines stop functioning in the waning light of a burning out sun. Fascinating work with great colors and subtlety, excellently done!

I thought it was the wreck of a plane at first look, as did someone else up there. It's a fascinating abstract. I could just sit here and look at it. Your work always does that to me. Fantastic work Rick! V (:

Oh! very , very nice Rykk, I see also a modernistic plane and also a prehistoric bone of some large beast, looks neat with the tones you used, they blend so beutiful, love the way you create these unusual fractals, is so hard to decide which I like best, your spheres or your abstracts, I guess the most the same, both. Very creative and of course perfect work. Eccellent. v Lina

I see an opening into a futuristic place. The round part on the right is where you end up after going through the large cave like opening in the front. The green leaves are just an added touch of life that is making its viney way around the structure. This is gorgeous!

Wonderful image, Rick! I, too, thought about a plane wreck, and a bit of snow covers some of the tips where the sun hasn't melted it yet. A great imagination, and image.

Rick, what a very cool looking abstract! I think I agree that it does look like a plane wreck. Although it is a very lovely image! I just love the colors on this one. They are just fantastic! Awesome Job!

This is fabulous! What I like is that you create the perfect background for your subject and they seem to have life rather than be simply static images.
