Description

Arthur C. Clarke wrote a story, A MEETING WITH MEDUSA, in 1970. In it he postulated gas giants might be populated by gigantic living dirigibles, like hydrogen-filled jellyfish. We're in the upper atmosphere, safe the dangerous lightning storms below. The locals are hovering in the clear air of a storm's eye. Soon they'll be in sunlight and their chlorophyll-rich membranes can process needed nutrients from the material gathered by the feeding tentacles that hang hundreds of feet down. A final cloud strata is visible miles above and beyond that, a glimpse of the planet's ring. Acrylic on matte board, 15" x 20"

Reminds me of an old book about the solar system. These were possible inhabitants of Jupiter. Cool! =]

Very interesting...I think TwoPynts and I may have seen the same book because this also reminds me of a picture of possible life on Jupiter. Very nice!
