Description

This one is based on a one-time-shown location in the LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES comic series. Starhaven is an archipelago of asteroids in the middle of a dense stellar cluster. The metal-rich asteroids provide the raw material for one of the United Planets' premiere starship building centers. The asteroids themselves have been moved into a permant formation by the habitats, shipyards, and docking centers bridging them. Starhaven has an abundant source of energy in the form of the combined light of the stellar cluster. As the locals say, "Night never falls on Starhaven." In the upper left background, below the "Starhaven Towing" tug, is a small gold-colored ship. That's the "Jenni Lea", which I did a few paintings of. I'll post those as soon as I find the negatives. Acrylic on 18" x 33" illustration board.
