Description

The first Winter of 1620 was very hard on the Pilgrims; however, with help from the local Indians, the fall harvest of 1621 was a great success. The celebration lasted 3 days with much eating and socializing. In 1823, Sarah Hale (Publisher) starting writing to the President, members of Congress and everyone else of whom she could think to request that a day of Thanksgiving be a National Holiday. Forty (40) years later, President Lincoln declared "Thanksgiving Day" to be the last Thursday of the month of November. BUT, Congress did not make it an official holiday until 1941! Daz; RDNA; other stuff by me cornfield & grass are eco'ed Comments and smiles are always welcome. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, a super week and see you next Tuesday!

Another lesson in history - and cute too. I wonder why the turkey is so small, maybe it was a sparrow ? :D Thank you, and have a great Thanksgiving - of course we don't celebrate it in Poland, but you sure deserved it ;). Thanks for the fun and see ya next week ^^

Pheww! Had to take my powernap 'fore being able to take ALL of this one, comradette '-)! So much going on here and just like a big Thanksgiving dinner I don't know where to start! However, I feel I must point out for some of your non-American viewers a small bit of historical inaccuracy in that the drumstick booties were, in fact, not invented until, I believe, the third or fourth Thanksgiving!LOL!
