Description

Friday night we had an hour to drive out to Hoover Dam from Vegas 11 miles from my Moms winter home. IT was around 430-ish when we left. But by the time we got there I realized we had missed the sunset and it was almost dark, I was dissapointed thinking I totally had missed it. The dam is so huge and one of the greatest engineering works in history. There was about 5 minutes left of any kind of decent light and we were in a traffic jam on the bridge over the dam. I asked Mike to let me out of the car from the street as the parking was on top of the hill and ran over and got two shots only then Mike says hop in the car we have to go-lol. He was hungry for dinner .I did manage to get a few upper night shots of the Dam. As we were driving away -0h I wished I had got the Dam itself in good lighting. Dam-it. When you are with family you take what you can get with kids and family schedules... (mommmmm I have to go to the bathroom type

Fantastic view. Love the reflection in the water. They seem to have switched on the lights quite early, which makes for an illuminated picture. :-D

Splendid photo, with an unusual association of lights. I think it is very difficult to do such a photo. Excellent technique. Really splendid.

Great piccie :D It's a long time since I was in Vegas and the Dam, so it's nice to see it again. And I agree about the construction. Must have been a heckova job to dig that big hole in the ground just to fill it with water ;) Excellent lighting on this. Sunset didn't really matter much after all :D
