Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Jan-Carel, how are you resizing your images? it seems like the top photo lost clarity when it was resized. i always resize mine at 90%, bicubic. Anyway, i do like how you cropped it and think it was definitely the right way to do it. the textures of the mountains (which come thru so wonderfully in the image on the bottom) are just FABULOUS!!! colors are amazing as well! you got a nice shot there of Wim waiting for you!! perspective is FANTASTIC!!!!!!! the contrasting yellows and purples are quite pleasing!!! Now get your breath and get on up there!!! hehe! :) Excellent shooting! :)
