Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Good detail to show the amount of erosion and debris this glacier can carry with it :)

Nice details, I can hardly wait to see what you bring us tomorrow.

Must be early, because I can't find your red dots either. Where, Jan-Carel? Give us a hint. If ever privileged to be there, I'd probably be down by the rushing water near the bottom center, but not on the ice. -- Dick

On these one, it's really a river of ice !!!! Maybe my favorites of your serie. That give me a sensation of infinity and in the same time of something so fragile... Superb shots my friend.

A double impressive captures. I'm assuming that old glacer ice does have a blue hue color.

One stupid character too much while posting this capture, I meant 'no' red dots in place of 'now' - I am sorry for the confusion! Text is corrected now!

Fascinated as always !

Is the blue where the ice is melting? or just super frozen? That is so amazing!!
