Having taken the advice/criticism of the previous version of this render, I have reworked the texures, mainly on the salmon. The texture is now even more elaborate :) with two layers, one for the utmost surface, which is a modified glass material, and the second layer is the bitmap texture, now modified with "color reflected light" and reduced bumps. This will be the final version, enough is enough :) Rendered with imagebased lighting (HDRI), 45 min. render (as to why this version rendered so fast, I can only guess, the image size is 20 pct. larger than the other one, so it must be the changed reflection settings that does it.) Tech trivia pasted from the first posting: "I've modified the "Chinook Salmon" texture (comes with the download from "Toucan") in several aspects: increasing the resolution & some colour adjustments, designing bump-maps , reflections, and transparency maps for the fins. The grass is made with Bantam3D "Grass 7". Knowing what I wanted, I rendered an alpha-mask of the salmon, and used it for "alpha picture" in "Grass", thereby blocking the area where the fish was to be - otherwise you could get straws sticking through the body etc. The grass object here is exceptionally huge, 23 mb., as it was to be used in this close-up.
