Description

Doesn't she look like saying "The Forest's my Home... The Night's my Reign!"? She is Hootarella, a girl who is not meant to go unoticed ;) Well I think this image shows that she's not just a sensual beauty, indeed the charm emanating from her has got something magical, and looking at her, as she here appears, I wonder if she's genuinely human or rather if Fairy People's blood is running in her veins... Her dress here is a classical one -- V3's Morphing Fantasy Dress with The Sorceress textures (I've been wondering if green textures would be more fitting a "forest maiden", but finally decided that red is just her colour...). Technically the interesting facts about the dress is that, one, it is dynamic, and two, it fits a morphed character. For the first point my gratitude goes to svdl and his great tutorial (here at 'Rosity) on how to make a conf-dress dynamic. With the MFD it is very easy to do (BTW just do not export the skirt, which is the conical handle), and given its shape I just I belive it simply has to be dynamic, as the conformal version is somehow and sometimes difficult to pose and in the end does not give comparable results (and the work's not much so it is worth doing). But starting from a conformal one may be a pro when working with a morphed character, expecially if the dress itself comes provided with a full set of morphs! And so we come to the second point: I used Ralf Sesseler's pyton script (a free on this site) to copy the character's morph values to the dress, thus obtaining a better approximation to her shape. There were still a couple of poke-thrus, and to dispose of these I just had to tune down two morph-dials of her body in the first frame, letting the dynamics to manage the growing guess-You-know-what ;) Actually You can start with just V3 at frame one and come out, as here, with Hootarella in the final frame, letting the dynamics do all the fitting job for You, but I thought I could, and it would be better to, give it an aid. Of course the overall point with dynamics is to start without poke-thrus! A final note: materials do not love the export-import process, to have the dress material right I simply copied the mats in the mat-room from the original conforming figure to the new dynamical prop (I tryed to directly applay the MAT pose to such a prop but failed). The rest of the set was just a "putting the things there", so ain't worth adding anything on my part but for the really deserved credits to the people who made all those beautiful things, a big thanks to all of them! Hope You like this, and thanks for Your patience! As always comments and suggestions will be meet with my gratitude!

Thanks for Your comments, folks! And, Dreamlight, I really appreciate when people point out what is not OK, this is what comments are for! I myself was quite disappointed at the time when I saw the result of that day-long render-- those ugly shades :( ... (Anyway this should theach us to expliot the possibility of low-res test renders ;-) ) I managed to find the solution only later: quite simple, after all, just needed to tweek the transparency fall off attribute in the mat room, if only I knew... oh, well, I'm a rookie and I'm here to learn! Thanks and bye! PS Arvanor correctly pointed out that Valea released an update for her wonderful "the Sorceress" textures for MFD solving these problems, so check out! (thanks Valea and Arvanor!)

The girl is beautiful, and if I don't get that dress(and texture), I will surely die.

Maybe you're a rookie - but first those things like the ugly trans happen to all of us here and there - and that short how-to is very useful and far from any newbie-behaviour ;o) Thanks a lot for sharing it!
