Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

No need to look for meaning beyond wonder. Fusion is reeking with childhood here. Best to be off to the dry oak of old men.

Nice textures and interesting explanation.

A great image, Jan-Carel. It set me to wondering if our souls look like that to God. Perhaps He plans that they be ever changing. Thus we might grow in our ability to recognise Him, and to love Him more and more. He leads us on, builds us up, breathes His spirit into us, in different ways, strengthening us to follow different paths, until, one day, He calls us home. Regards, John.

It reminds me of ripples in desert sand dunes or at the beach. It is really beautiful! I can't help but wonder if any of those rocks lying around are like mine.

These "puddles" of water fascinate me too! The color and "purity" of it is so beautiful. Hard to believe it's actually freezing! O_o Rather makes me think of some exotic warm place for some reason.
