Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

The ice-cold blues really come thru in your photos and enhance the feeling of being there one gets when viewing them. The light and perspective are wonderful.

Either you have a great zoom or you are a brave man! That looks awsome and very dangerous.

Magnificent puts red dot suit on. I seen a docu on TV about glaciers movement over time. They put a microphone deep into the ice to listen to the booming cracks and grinding noise that goes on underneath. Have you ever heard a glacier move JC? Time lapse film of the ice flowing downhill was amazing. They look so inhospitable and nightmarish but very beautiful and inriguing at the same time. A red dot would be nice but there you go you can't win em all. Again magnificent view and captured well. ty

No red dots? Jeez, I wonder why...? LOL Man, I don't think I have the guts to be one of those red dots on this sheet of ice...This is just enormous!! Your explanation sums it all up for me...Gorgeous shot here JC~ Aloha!

A spectacular photo, showing the awesome power of the ice. I would not volunteer to be a red dot anywhere near this icefall. It wouldn't even notice if it crushed me.
cynlee
the red dots might have been lost in the avalanche! o.O
