Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

what a GORGEOUS flower, Jan-Carel! i love this color!! fushia/magenta...it really stands out and wants to be noticed! good that you did! i would have fun playing with this image. that little flower says to me, "me make stand apart from the rest!" LOL! (yeah...i'm so nutz i hear the subjects of my images and other people's images talking to me!!!) just teasing!!! (just in case someone thinks i'm serious!) hehe! Anyway, i would be tempted to play with this image and maybe desaturate the background...perhaps even do some selective coloring here. i'd want to try to give less attention to the background so the flower stands out more. but that's just me. i like to play with pictures! :) perhaps YOU heard the others flowers saying, "please, please give us our glory!!!" LOL! sorry for being so silly! ;) nice shallow DOF you got there to make her stand out! you did her good! :)
