Description

So here we are, the tongue of the glacier looks here like an open mouth. Contrasts are too high to record details under it. The height of the ice with the pebbles is about 2.5 meters (about 8 feet) and the melting ice causes all those pebbles and rock to drop down, so we have to be careful here. The ice is incredibly solid, I can hit it with rocks as hard as I can but it leaves only a little hole in it. It looks like glass but everywhere it's covered by sand and little pebbles. Heat and cold, light and darkness, hard and soft, everything is contrasting, both (or more) faces of the same coin, all in one, a lot of chances for a single life. And we would like to live all of them. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

the point of view is excellent, but the chosen moment of the day for taking the picture was not so good - a light from behind would have been so super, but I'm aware that when we're in a trip we are always on the move [eh - me and my comments; smiles]. thank you for showing us!

Nothing quite like it, staring into the mouth of a glacier. This has been such an amazing trip. Having the top of the glacier looking down on us is a very scary feeling too. WOW!!! V
