Today is a special day. I dedicate this one to Wim since it is his birthday today! Happy birthday mate! I hope you'll have the health and opportunities to enjoy more of these hikings in the mountains! :)
Last shot of this glacier (looks similar to yesterday's posting but the composition is different). Unfortunately it is not safe to approach this glacier closer (rocks on melting ice that could slide down any moment) and the running water separates us from the other side of the glacier so we cannot explore the rest of the glacier. I hope you've seen enough details of it, however. It's time to go back to the car, but this is not the last picture of this valley yet.

Happy birthday, Wim!!!!! I hope you have a most wonderful day!!!! So wonderful to see the mouth of this glacier, as Cosine said! It's gorgeous! looks like shooting conditions were tough! very sunny day and the sun sure is pretty on the water and ice! on my monitor the image seems a bit bright...perhaps could be helped by reducing the brightness of the highlights. Regardless, i still really like this picture with it's striking colors and most interesting scene! certainly would be neat to get closer, but better to be safe!!!! But really you have taken us very close and shown us a lot of details!! thanks! it's wonderful! Happy birthday again, Wim! :)

Happy Birthday to your friend Wim! I apologize for being so late with my comments. This is an incredible shot of that ice cold, gurgling water. It must be amazing to be so close and be able to hear the rushing waves. Fantastic series as always Jan-Carel and I'm glad you were safe! (((Hugs))) ++++
