Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

"The devil is tryng to sift you", jcv2. This screening violates the "reap it all the wheat and the tare and put it in my barn command." How we love our classifications, our taxonomies and our lists. What else do we have? Around the Great Lakes and th Canadien Shield there are hundres of miles of this described as a "morraine from the edge of the Ice Age." Who can refute tribolytes?

This has been a most incredible series you've been so kind to share. I almost feel as though I've been there to experience it's splendor and grandeur. You've done a most masterful job of documenting a wide variety of images from this most fantastic journey too, thanks for that as well. As always - beautiful work Jan!

Excellent capture. Like all of yours. It was a good experience for me.

I like these kind of desolated mountain landscapes without any green (even not a red dot LOL), all the different shades of grey with blue sky and some white from the ice! excellent photo, have a nice day!!

I know a guy who lives in a moraine valley in Illinois so I know what moraine is. I just didn't know how many kinds there are. It's always an education to look through Jan-Carel's lens. Anyway, this reminds of a landscape from a Sci-Fi movies, except for the beautiful blue sky.

Wonderful capture of this rock-strewn place! Nice contrast with the radiant blue sky!

beautiful texture and quality. this series was wonderful and thank you for sharing it. but one question: how can you upload these pictures if you are in the middle of nowhere? i might be missing something, but if you are hiking in glaciers then there would be no way to upload the pictures. just wondering. thanks for sharing!

Ahhh, once again I have learned something new from you! I'm so glad that you have taken the time to explain what we are looking at...although it will take me awhile to get my "moraine's" straightened out. Another excellent image and great use of terminology for us none hikers! Aloha to you JC!

would be fun to climb up this and check out the view from the top!! nice perspective here, and thanks for explaining the terminology! that helps a lot! i enjoy the beautiful colors and rocks! only thing i wish the clarity was a bit better. perhaps you lost some of that when you converted it? maybe a tiny bit of sharpening would give this a nice boost! then again...perhaps my eyes are a bit blurry this morning!!!! :) i do so much enjoy these natural pyramids! they're beautiful! can't wait to see what lies ahead on the way back! :)
