Hi Kortalouche!What an interesting study of DOF!It creates an interesting contrast between the ultra-sharp texture of the ring in the foreground,(which I think looks really cool,btw),and the soft,almost water-color look of the background.Just so you know,here was a fascinating discussion in the forum this past weekend about DOF.I think you would've found it quite interesting.Hope you had a lovely weekend. I have always liked bamboo! Look at those tightly packed fibers!! One of (If not THE) strongest non-tree plants in the world! And yes, nice depth of field!

Interesting the number of capilary tubes - makes one wonder whether they are like tree rings. Probably not, but hey, it's fun to speculate! Very neat photo!
