Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Wildflowers and a vista to back them up is dreamland. Clearly the flowers haven't gone anywhere. They are right before me. Uncut!

Wow! Love the greens and the touch of color provided by the wild flowers. Yes, I'm ready for spring, but it's still far away. Thanks for sharing this vivid reminder.

An evocative scene, Jan-Carel. I breathe in fully ( allowing for old scars in the lung ). I blink my eyes, and try to focus ( despite the double vison ) long enough to scan the greying ridges, and let the wonder of God's creation seep into my everyday exitence. I imagine trekking over this land, seeing new sights, feeling the breeze, smelling the wildflowers, listening to the hum of insects, longing for a drink of cold water, and the crunch of an apple ( without losing my dentures )... Aaah. Thanks for the mini-vacation. It seems to be dark all day this month. This is a welcome light up here in Glasgow. Thanks again. Regards, John.
