Description

Before I continue this series I skip one moment back to the Eggishorn-series (this series started at Eggishorn 1 - for Rita at October 27). For some reason I forgot to post this one, and now it seems the perfect moment to do so (actually I was searching for this one in my gallery but I discovered never having posted this picture yet). Looking down from the Eggishorn to the east we see the Marjälesee, a lake situated at 2348 m (7703 ft) and behind the ridge lies ... the Fieschertal (Fiesch Valley), with (more to the left) the Fiescher Gletscher on the left hand. Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 50 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

Sitting on top of the world. No need for a tower to shame us. Your eyes above the clouds have their feet on the ground.

I think this is one of the best views yet - I can't get over the scale and vastness of the landscape. I know how a photo can never quite capture that kind of granduer, but my imagination almost gives up when I think of what it must be like to witness this in person. Wow, just amazing!
