Wow! Bev, the crow has a pin-up! LOL I have been sitting here going in and out of your painting, feeling it. For me the most important part of this is the picture of the woman in relation to "faith". Multiple meanings speak to me, but I will only point out what I see as the incongruence. The paper picture of the woman is incongruent as it relates to faith, because faith is dynamic, living and not to be had by an inanimate object. So if faith refers to the woman and the woman is paper only, faith is incongruent in this image. Well, that's the best I can do right now. I sure love your paintings and the exercise you give my mind. ;)

Thought-provoking and moving. The raven speaks of death..and the moth or butterfly and curled-page paper, beauty turned dry and lack-lustre. The young woman in the picture looks sad and lost..and maybe confused. The daisy and pin might represent innocence..perhaps lost now...and the cross-directional flying of the birds indicate a loss of direction. Finally, the nuetral backing is somewhat mottled instead of clean and clear. The "incongruence" seems to be rooted in her confusion and longing for something dear and misplaced. I hope she finds herself whole again soon. Outstanding work.

Photos store moments of our past. When the great and wise raven comes the past steps out of photo and begins to live for future; in spite of deserted days and years of both faith and despair a wise soul sees how it's not all, the past is not the only thing that shapes our future. It's necessary to realize the incongruence of faith, otherwise the faith turns into a habit, and the wisdom is vanished... She still hesitates... wisdom or easy life? But she knows, there's actually no choice anymore - she listens to raven. And it's not easy. ----So beautifully painted. So beautifully seen and thought. Thank you, Bev, so much for sharing your art with us. I think we need it. At least I do! :-)

really beautiful. what struck me is the hair coming off of the picture over the crow's head and a little bit on the background which makes the face a 'living' thing.
