Description

Part of my Constellations series Bloodsong's Big Face Lion--because its better that the Poser Lion! I haven't developed much skill with post working fur, so this is pretty basic I'm afraid. I mostly included it at this point because I figured I might as well do all the Zodiac signs I could and the Lion is one thing I have! LEO IN GREEK MYTH: Hercules' first labor was to kill the Nemean lion, a fierce beast who descended to Earth from the Moon in the form of a meteor and ravaged the countryside of Corinth. The lion's hide was so tough that neither spear nor arrow nor any other weapon could pierce it. As Hercules approached the lion's lair, a cave with two mouths, the lion showed itself and Hercules sped an arrow toward its heart. The arrow merely bounced off and fell to the ground. Hercules now knew that his arrows and spears were useless against the beast, so he sealed off one of the entrances to the lion's cave and pursued the lion through the other entrance. Finally catching up with the beast, Hercules used his great strength to seize the lion, then strangled it to death by ramming his fist down its throat. Hercules later skinned the lion and used its head and hide as his helmet and cloak. Zeus raised the lion to the heavens in honor of Hercules.
