A very fine composition indeed! Nice blending of background picture with the model. It's a great model, isn't it?

Excellent compo! In reality there's be quite a few guys swinging in the rigging but at least the flag is flying in the right direction which in so many pics is often not the case. I'm actually building the real thing from a Heller model kit 1:100, so I might be using this as a refereance pic!!!

Just remember to do your research....an artist should always study the subject he/she wants to render, if they are going for realism. There is a great website I have recommended to other seafaring artists that has traditional artists who paint this and other ships in as close to realistic accuracy as they can. The site is: www.scrimshawgallery.com/ Online Galleries/ Paintings and Prints. Check out the artist Geoff Hunt, who paints the Victory (and ALL the Patrick O'Brian novel covers) quite a lot. Also, the artists, Geoffery Huband, Charles Vickery, John Stobart, and the grandfather of seafaring/maritime art, the late Montague Dawson...I will be watching..............
