Description

Looking down I can still see the pass. The development of the clouds is strange, I do not recognise it. The temperature up here has dropped, I need to take my coat to keep me warm. The colors in the rocks fascinate me. I don't have a geological map of this area but this landscape seems to consist of several different minerals. The geological composition of the Alps is extraordinary complicated. I have seen global maps and the number of layers is simply stunning. That's why a relative small area of mountains shows up with so many distinct appearances. Have a wonderful Sunday! What an incredible DOF.. And you are right.. the Alps show a lot of different colors as a result of a great variety of minerals.. and that is not all..due to the great variety, it has lots and lots of different environmets too which causes of course a great variety of flora and fauna.

I like the warm and cool tones, and that cloud add a sense of drama to this rich view, with it's swooping lines.

I recognise the view and think I can see a lake which wasn't visible in number 4! The way the different type of rocks are shaped by erosion is fantastic and all the colours make this a wonderful image! Breathtaking!

On the right looks like the very "rotten rock" of agyllite. The shale sheets break up easily. That is the only rock I know near a glacier. Maybe you presented it to a lucky novice.
