Description

Looking down I can still see the pass. The development of the clouds is strange, I do not recognise it. The temperature up here has dropped, I need to take my coat to keep me warm. The colors in the rocks fascinate me. I don't have a geological map of this area but this landscape seems to consist of several different minerals. The geological composition of the Alps is extraordinary complicated. I have seen global maps and the number of layers is simply stunning. That's why a relative small area of mountains shows up with so many distinct appearances. Have a wonderful Sunday! Yes, there are many different colors here; it must be a geologist's dream. :-)

Wow, such an excellent sense of elevation from this POV, that is one high viewpoint you're shooting from. Awesome scenic of the landscape before you Jan! Thanks for sharing, not to mention capturing it.

Watch tremendous depth -- it's hard to tell just how much distance is involved. Beautiful work.
