Description

I find Miki a pain to get good renders from. Something about the face makes all expressions come out as either "sulk" or "manic smile". So this time I went for a prone pose, using Posermatic's more pneumatic variation on Miki, and the clothing kit with morphs to accomodate the figure shape. Hair started out as an Egypt Hair Steps style with an Egypt Treasures color (can't remember who did the fit) but mutated a bit until her head looked more normal. Clothing textures (and boots) courtesy of outoftouch, and a pair of Xena's "Sunnies" to top it off. Oh, and one of the non-IBL light sets from the hmann set, I forget which. The sulky pout is still there, but it's no longer the focus. I figured there was no problem making Miki a redhead, despite her Eastern features, since My Miki has that "out of a bottle" orange tan look to anyway. I reshaped the face using the RuntimeDNA head morphs just to find a look I liked. Then I modified the material for the sunglasses to add some element of reflection to the lenses. As usual, the intention was to take the end result into Photoshop to convert it from whatever format Poser has allowing me to save in today into a JPEG for uploading. As usual, I got sidetracked by a plug-in, this time Alien Skin's new "Exposure". While Alien Skin have done their best to make this one sound really dull - alter your digital images to look like they were taken on some unavailable but legendary stock that hasn't been made since 1972 - it's really a one-stop shop for color manipulation. I restrained myself and only used two presets - one restored Miki's skin tone to something that looked human, the other gave the shot a subtle diffusion, just enough to call it a glamour shot. They do provide a separate glamour shot filter, but compared to the filter I used that one looks like someone smeared a bucket of Vaseline on the lens. Anyway, here's the result. Share and enjoy, and comments are welcome.
