Well, fortunately WE can see the colors and this shiny sawn wood is not easy to capture so well! Impressive work, Rozanne and um... it's just great to see what you're seeing here, thumbnail or no thumbnail! :)

Wow! You can see the actual shape of the chainsaw!!! You did a wonderful job of balancing the rings and texture of the cross-section, with the sheen that reveals the cut marks!!!

Wow! Really great capture! I love how you can see where there were leaves, the rich color of the moss, and the saw marks. Wondeful shot!

Desde aquse ve perfecto ! Hasta me parece ver una cara... la luz es genial, incide de tal manera que se puede "leer" la historia del arbol. Vuelve pronto Rozanne !

Lovely textures, Rozanne. Re the 'coffin nails', take heart. My friends who have succeeded in the past, simply made their mind to stop, and kept at it, one day at a time. I never started but get lots of passive smoke even these days, especially on the FirstBus route 240 single deckers out to deepest darkest Lanarkshire. Keep up the good work. Regards, John

Think of all the money you will save (and the camera you buy later?) lol
