Nice enough to eat, Rozanne. Here we have to coddle them in woolen socks, next to bananas, in a vain attempt to get them to ripen. One minute they are rock hard, the next they have gone all black and soft!!! I tend to buy 'Chinese Pears' now, also known as 'Nashis", which I believe are actually grown in the Midi region of France. By the way, do you remember cider, and even pear flavoured ice lollies when you were at school? Regards, John.

Such a beautiful still life Rozanne. What is that thing on its..."stick"...a cap of some kind? Regardless i just love what that red does to the compo. Well done. Have a great evening. #:O)

Nice still life! Why the red stuff on the stem? Is that how they come in the stores there? Or is that artistic license?

Que preciosidad ! Parece deliciosa... y tu foto la hace m. Lo rojo es lacre ? Creo saber que favorece su conservaci durante m tiempo.

Superb ! Rozanne ! I expect that the red thing is wax, no ?

It's a type of sealing wax which keeps the pear fresh for longer!

Funny idea with the thumbnail! ;-) Nice shot!

Wonderful capture of this pear (initially I expected something of a red paprika seeing your thumb LOL)! Never heard they did wax them to conserve them better, but it makes sense! Terrific work, Rozanne! :)
