Description
And when the travelers from the heavens arrived,
They would see that none of humanity survived.
The soot from explosions had since blown away,
And poisoned the air and darkened the day.
The bones of man had long turned to dust,
Their buildings had crumbled, succumbing to rust.
The lush green meadows destroyed by the shells,
Leaving only the blood stains of all who fell.
The oceans had boiled, as did the skies,
And the power of the atom had silenced man's cries.
When the travelers landed, what would they find?
The legacy of death, destruction, and hatred that man left behind.
I see a lot of things on the news that remind me of the dark nature of humanity, so I felt like doing something that was emotionally darker and a bit more morbid. And I wrote this poem for it too.
Sky, clouds, and terrain done in Terragen. I colored some of the terrain a reddish color to leave the impression of dried blood stains that remained over eons of time. Postwork, moon, and ship coming in done on Photoshop CS. Thanks for viewing, and enjoy!

I like both the poem and the picture. Until you said you wrote it yourself I thought you had cpoied it.

Wow! technically the terrain is not very outstanding in itself, but when you combine it with the rest (postwork and poem), it becomes very powerful! Besides if it was some totally realistic terrain it would take away from what i think you wanted to say. Excellent work all around!

The image of the vessel entering the atmosphere of this sterile, dystopian world could only be enhanced by the addition of your poem. It is indeed a dark vision, however we all need a reminder, from time to time, of what may happen if we do not turn aside from our present course. Phenomenal work! My Vote
