Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Who did you kiss underneath the mistletoe, huh? Come on, tell us! LOL - Have a good day, J.C.!

Oh lovely shot here, love mistletoe, adds some nice green to trees that have lost their leaves for the winter. Excellent photo here for sure.

The blue sky in the background adds beauty to the trees. Excellent job. Aloha

Beauitful capture of that tree, with the snow covered mountains in the background. Pure eye-candy. Have a great day. #:O)

I feel like a mistletoe with your pictures: a lot to learn and little to contribute, just the ingenuous and impatient interest of the discovery. Anyway, in defence of mistletoe (mudago in spanish), in addition to the magic of the kiss under it, it has a noteworthy number of medicinal properties.

Very well captured! I remember the mistletoe from my early high school dances, where you would steer the girl inexorably in the direction of the mistletoe so you could steel some kisses.

I have early memories of travelling to the Smokey Mountains in spring. The trees were bare more Southern and the valleys filled with coal smoke. Poverty becomes a debt payable with homelessness. Instead of geography the land dials back to 1930.

Nice winter scene through the trees and into the valley.

These things are a parasit ? I didn't know, thanks to learn us that Jan-Carel. I think a lot of trees of our region has got the same alien here too.... I love this winter scene ! and the composition of this shot. Have a nice day my friend. Hugs

een mooi uitzicht, vooral als je even tijd nodig hebt om na te denken, heel mooi en rustgevend

I'm with nathalie06, I didn't realize it was a parasitic plant. But I did recognize it as mistletoe as I have seen it before in trees, not in the island but the States. Excellent shot and infomation as usual! Aloha!

Hmmm! Squirrels make lumps of leaves in our trees that are most visible during the winter months. I have to admit that's what I thought those were at first. Cool info too!!!!

Our mesquite trees here in the desert get this parasite too. It chokes the tree until it dies. This is a very cool photo, JC!
