Description

We've set ourselves the task of creating historical costumes in the shortest time possible, as part of the commercial archaeological service we offer in completition to 2D versions. These are our first two results, having taken 3 days for the two of them. (We have even resisted the temptation of going back and doing more work to them. Not easy, we can tell you!). They may not be the best images we've created, but they're certainly the fastest! We owe a massive debt of gratitude to kromekat who made the wig as an example and then allowed us to use it. All the other modelling work done by my partner in time, Phurst with lighting and slight postwork by yours truly. The figure is a Mike 2 and we used InterPoser for the transfer. Thanks for viewing, Mak & Pete

Modeling clothes is hard. I've only tried it a couple of times and both were fashion disasters. These look great.

Impressive work Mak & Pete! - any Clothilde used, or just point pushing!

Thanks both. Clothilde? We wish. Pete's still using 8.5! When the work begins to flow - and the cash in the right direction - we'll be up to 9.5 before you can say '9.5'! Mak

So somebody else was trying to create a wig not just me ;). Looks good. I would add a couple of fill lights to brighten up the shadows a touch.

Most impressive bit of speed modeling/texturing I've ever seen. I'm glad that I didn't miss this one.

I love the gentleman from the court of Charles II, (ca 1680's?) will you be offering this and future costumes for sale? I would love to see good Naval Uniforms from the 1790s to 1815....the age of Nelson and Napoleon. You guys should try to model Napoleon's red uniform he wore as First Consul (before he was Emperor), portrayed in a portrait by J. Louis David...all that red velvet and gold filigree.....anyway keep up the good work!

Thanks again. We'd love to offer our costumes for sale, or even to use in our own animations. Firstly though, we've still got to learn how to do this and we're working on it as I type... well, maybe not as I actually type as it's 7.30 in the morning. As far as other periods are concerned... watch this space!
