Description

Another dream lost! This all-but-forgotten place is located near the tiny rural town of Hollister, in Halifax County North Carolina. I was unable to find any history on the place, let alone whom to talk to that has any information on it. Looks like another family's one-time dream has been lost in history, with only a photograph left to remember it by. What a shame! Thanks for looking, have a historically memorable day!

sometimes it is from not being able to continue farming from money issues, but I think often it is large companies buying the farms up "lock stock and barrel" and they have no use for the old farm houses so the decay as this one. excelent capture Troy

Just imagine a proud father posing on his land, with a busy mother and a bunch of playing kids and chickens and dogs around the house... What happened? Beautiful image with a sad nostalgic feeling!

Litlle House on the Prairie! Wonderful find Troy! The top floor seems to be leaning some?! It's sad that so many are left behind. I almost think some are lost due to loosing their families in wars. Breaks my heart to so many dreams lost.

The more I see and the more I love this serie too ! and I agree with Jean-Pierre about the sadness... I like your pano size for this one, who give as a more importance to this old house. Great Troy ! Have a good evening. Hugs. V

Fantastic capture of this abandoned house here! The architecture seems far more European here to me (the first thought that came up in my mind seeing this). Gorgeous work, Troy! :)

Looks very good with a wide crop. The solitary and somewhat dilapidated building was probably a very nice home once. Excellent capture!
