Description

How do you quench a fire? A fire that burns warm, alive and genial? How do you kill an angel - that smiles, enchants and brings love? You cannot. For the warmth and the shining stays in our heart and soul. For we remember love and joy and beauty. A life well-lived for people, among people and in the joy of bringing joy to people is a life that lasts forever in memory, no matter how short-lived it was. A smiling face that lit up with life and love will always stay in our hearts. A voice, that thrillend our innnermost soul, will sing forever. LAURA STOICA is no more among us mortals. We mourn for our loss, but are grateful to God for the precious gift of having her among us for 38 years. We also mourn two other losses: Laura's fiance and her unborn baby. All three died last night, killed by a drunk driver. But Laura's soul will live in us and the joy she brought us with her songs, her frank, sincere and friendly nature, her brilliant smile. This is not an obituary, but a song of love. The love I will always keep for her in my heart and in my prayers. Now the angels hear Laura's voice and we must not disturb their joy with our sorrow: "And I!- to-night my heart is light!- no dirge will I upraise, But waft the angel on her flight with a Paean of old days!" (Edgar Allan Poe - Lenore)

I wrote this in a way, in the name of all Romanians who loved Laura Stoica and her music. I did not know her personally, but I feel the loss deeply. Thank you for your kind words.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of these three people. It saddens me greatly to hear their child never had a chance to live life.
