Description
In the shadow of you I hide
Afraid to peep out and see
The pain, inflicted deep
In love, in life, in death;
To see scorn in their eyes
Looking at us from above.
So I take a dive in your love
And I hide in the shadow of you.
In the shadow of you I live
Away from the truth and the reason and life
Away from what you know and you do.
Feels better to shut out it all
And let you do what you do free
From my life, my love, my truth.
So I close my eyes and forget
And I live in the shadow of you.
In the shadow of you I die
At peace with the world and the life,
Accepting the bliss of oblivion
That sets me free from the truth
The pain and the love that we have,
Away from the living soul of this world.
So I drift away with a smile
And I die in the shadow of you.

Dedicated to a much older man that I love and can't have. What we cannot have in real life may exist in my words and this poem.
