Now there's an impressive specimen! What a monster this is, glad it's growing there and not in my yard as it would completely take it over..Disney in Florida put up a fake tree like this that is a landmark in the African Safari exhibit...in the trunk they made an 400 seat auditorium..Nice of you to include the car here to give this tree scale...Impressive shot here Piet! Aloha!

Wow! Never known trees like these could age this much! I though Pinus aristata did the job with about 4000 years! Impressive work, Piet, it's a stunning tree, very wide and not tall at all compared with that! :)

I like the shot with the car in picture to show the size and awesome life of this tree, I would however have got the whole tree in the shot by stepping back as far as possible.

I find words like "interesting" and "cool" tree in all the comments above. Do these people know that the Boabab is actually one of SA's ... What's the word I'm looking for? "characteristic"? What do you think of when you see a Boabab? I think of Louis Trichard, I think of the Bushveld of SA, I think of my country... Lovely presentation.
