Description

I could not get over how electric and vibrant the plumage of this bird was. His look spoke volumes. ----- Lorikeet family Psittacidae Lorikeets and lories are small, brightly coloured, highly aboreal parrots. They are usually classified as Loriinae, the most clearly distinct of the several rather uncertain subfamilies within the Psittacidae. Noisey birds, they are quite friendly and adapt well to human contact. ----- Thanks for stopping by and for your flighty comments on my last photo, Broad-tailed Hummingbird.

Let's get this straight:Montezuma pepped himself up with chocolate and BOILED PARROT? With indigestion like that Cortez and Company must have been a nightmare right out of the vintage glyph flicks about Quetzacoatl. Shining metal chest (clang clang), firearms (bang bang) and an awfully robust mount for a turkey or a llama(whinny whinny). Oh, ohHISS HISShis cabeza! (Striking color, subtle depth around the edges).

Really is a gorgeous bird. Wonderful bright colors. Wish birds like this existed in other places than the tropics. Of, I probably wouldnt get much sleep then. lol. Saw lots of birds like this in Jamaica. Noisey is an understatement. lol. However, it is a nice, tho loud noise. Excellent image. He looks fierce !!

Is this a rainbow lorikeet? Looks like one, they are regular visitors to my garden, but wild ones are quite shy so I cant get so close. Beautiful capture of the colours and parrot attitude!! =)
