Description

Thank you for the comments yesterday and the day before yesterday! To list the results I gathered until now (with the top voted in bold):Aegelsee 9Original (1)Normal (5)Bleach (0)Cover (11)Weak Light (2)Luminance (12)Aegelsee 10Original (0)Luminosity 20% (3)Luminosity 40% (4)Luminosity 60% (2)Luminosity 80% (0)Luminosity 100% (4) Is it coincidence the ones voted best are (close to) my preferences as well (although I still think of slight adjustments in them, as mentioned by Geert and Egmont)? It would have been great to make a genuine poll of it, but well, in this way it works as well! Thank you for your valuable input, sharing knowledge is stimulating me to experiment and enhance pictures in news ways! :) Another proof of the sinking waterlevel in this little lake is the object that has penetrated the ice sheet. I think the Swiss navy still does not excercise their use of submarines in lakes like these so I guess it must have been a rock that broke the ice sheet here. Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 35 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

Just in case people are unaware, the US president, Bush has censored scientist for commenting the urgency in regards to cutting back on fossil fuels and making a global change due to the seriousness of the ice caps melting at an alarming rate. US scientist are not permitted to report on the urgency, instead, their work is being edited by the White House to reflect the governments view. Having said all that, I wish to express my joy in this very beautiful photograph. May these pristine places be around for generations to come.

Nice shot, Jan-Carel. I just love that blue ice. Re the global warming, there is currently no shortage of water up here in Scotland. We have had a series of Clear Air Acts passed by Parliament coveing industrial and domestic emissions ever since 1956. That was after the horrendous smog in London in 1952 which killed many people. Now we have, from today, Sunday 26/03/2006, in Scotland, no smoking of tobacco products in a public place - unless of course you are on fire too ;o) My wife sounded terrible on the 'phone today, just at the thought that she could no longer have a cigarette in her favourite cafe. I will not miss them, having only one and a half lungs! I am sure the air where you took this shot was very clear. Enjoy the gifts of the Lord, including clean air. Regards, John.
